Next year’s International Halal Technical Capacity Development Programme (IHTCDP) will be introducing two additional training workshops. This workshop is a joint effort between IHTCDP and Halal Professional Board (HPB), with the objective to enhance the competency of Halal Executive and Halal Internal Auditors. Each of the workshop will consist of a five days training, and the certificate will be recognised by HPB Malaysia.

The Halal Executive workshop will be focusing on Halal Assurance System (HAS) implementation, HAS Documentation requirement, Internal Halal Committee and Maintaining Post-Halal Compliant. As for the Halal Internal Auditors workshop, the topics will cover all aspects of the Halal Auditing phases, Auditors competency and Performing the audit exercise.

These two workshops are open to both local and International participants coming from Manufacturers and Exporters of Halal, Government agencies related to Halal, Universities & Research Institute and Certification Bodies (CBs).

Since 2011 Malaysia Halal Certification holders are required to appoint halal executives to ensure the effectiveness of Halal Assurance Management System in their company. In the middle of 2018, all halal executives must be registered with JAKIM Halal Professional Board. Any Muslim who has attended the Halal Executive Course organized by registered training provider and works with the Malaysia Halal Certification holders company is eligible to apply.  This is to ensure the appointed Halal Executive is qualified to carry out their duties and perform their duties effectively.”

Objectives

This training intends to provide Halal Executives with Shariah and technical knowledge in the implementation of halal in the industry as well as to ensure halal related matters are adhere and are in accordance to shariah principles. This training will also equip Halal Executives with the relevant knowledge and skills for them to be competent in halal. Participants will be assessed during a written assessment as their final credit hours to successfully obtain the certificate. Participants will be awarded with either Certificate of Completion or Certificates of Attendance by the respective authority under KIHM upon successful participation.

PEARL

Internal Halal Auditing

Objectives

FAQ

What is Halal Professional Board (HPB) courses?

There are two courses under the Halal Professional Board (HPB). They are Halal Executive course (Citrine) and Halal Internal Auditor (Pearl) course. These two courses are competency-based courses. There will be a written assessment at the end of each course to evaluate the competency of the participants. Certificates of Completion/ Certificate of Attendance will be issued by the respective authority under the HPB upon successful participation.

When is the Halal Professional Board (HPB) courses?

Both courses will be held for 5 days from 26th March – 30th March 2018. Monday to Friday from 8am to 10pm.

What is the fees for the courses?

The fees are RM 4,000 each for Citrine & Pearl courses for Malaysian participants. For international participants, the fees will be USD 2000 and USD3000, without accommodation and with accommodation respectively.

Is there any discount?

There is 10% early bird discount which valid upon full payment until 31st January 2018.

Who will be the speakers?

The speakers will be from the Consortium of Halal Institutes of Malaysia (KIHM) and JAKIM officers.

Will participants be given certificates from these courses?

Yes, participants will be awarded with either Certificate of Completion or Certificates of Attendance by the respective authority under KIHM upon successful participation. There will be a written assessment at the end of each course to evaluate the competency of the participants.

When will the certificates be given to the participants?

The certificates will be awarded during the HCBC Official Dinner on the 2nd April 2018 at Le Meridien Hotel, Putrajaya.

Are there any pre-requisites for these courses?

Yes, participants must have at least a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the halal industry OR a degree/ diploma in Food Technology/ Food Science/ Syariah or any related industry – Pharmaceutical, Logistics, Transportation/ Food Services. Being a Muslims also is not a pre-requisite.

Are the HPB courses claimable by HRDF?

Yes, employers who contribute to HRDF are eligible to access their levy payments by claiming training reimbursements through HRDF.
